Lalgarh is a small village of West Bengal State which are controlled by Binpur-I community under the development block Jhargram subdivision. Lalgarh also the headquarters of Binpur CD block. Midnapore railway station is the main staion of this village which are distance about 45 km from this village. In November 2008 the Lagarh came under the media attraction. The guerrilla movement (proscribed by the indian state as terrorist)outfit Communist Party of India (Maoist), launched a massive fight against police personnel and rival ruling communist party; Communist Party of India (Marxist). In June 2009 Indian security forces launched Operation Lalgarh against the Maoists in the village. Lalgarh is a big populated place with majority of population being adivasis in West Bengal state.


The main occupation of this village people is cultivation , most people do not have opwn land but works on other fileds. This region is very dry for this cause all time people are not work in cultivation , other time all are work to selling crop and woods from the forest of Lalgarh .
